Service Engineers

Axis Fire & Security have an excellent opportunity for experienced Fire and Security Engineers to join our accredited team, being one of the established companies in the South.

Our new engineers will be personable, have excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with all types of people in building lasting relationships. Someone with good common sense, resilience, and the ability to use their own initiative should fit in well in this role and reside locally in the Hampshire Area.

The Role

The role is varied, and you will be responsible for servicing, fault finding, repairs, small additions and maintenance of systems.

After successful completion of an initial induction period you will be expected to complete works unsupervised and be keen to advance your learning through technological advances, to provide excellent quality service for our customers fully adhering to NSI Gold and BAFE Standards.

The successful candidates will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Service, Repair and Maintain Security Systems (Intruder / CCTV / Access) in accordance with NSI and relevant Codes of Practice/Policies (additional training can be provided for the right candidate)
  • Service, Repair and Maintain Fire Alarm Systems in accordance with BAFE and relevant Codes of Practice/Policies (additional training can be provided for the right candidate)
  • Responding to out of hours service calls at customer’s premises on a 24 hour rota basis
  • Liaising with Alarm receiving centres
  • Full Completion of relevant job reports via PDA
  • Taking part in Internal & External training sessions, Health & Safety and tool-box talks
  • Wearing Company Branded PPE and uniform at all times
  • To be personally tidy / clean and presentable at all times
  • To treat customers premises with the utmost respect (goods and premises) and ensure any work carried out is neat, to relevant standards and left in a clean and tidy manner
  • To maintain a safe, tidy, clean and secure work place with utmost regard for slips / trips that could occur to customers, colleagues and others on site

Skills Required

The applicant should already be experienced in the industry and have but not be limited to the following basic requirement:

  • Computer Literate to appropriate level to carry out the role, understanding of use of control panel, networking & operation of windows-based programs
  • Fault finding skills and reporting
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good understanding of current Health & Safety requirements
  • Knowledge of all appropriate working standards and current legislation

Training

  • Dependent on previous experience and qualifications
  • Regular product, technical training and toolbox talks
  • Regular reviews of standards, current legislation and technical bulletins

Qualifications / Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with Security and/or Fire Systems
  • Knowledge of NSI and BAFE Standards is preferable
  • Full Driving License (subject to inspection for company insurance)

Experience

  • Security or Fire Service: 3 years (Preferred)

Package

  • Salary: £31,000 to £38,000 /year (depending on experience) + Overtime and call outs (OTE £43,000)
