Hi everyone, today we’re going to be taking a look at one of Axis’s recent installations. We’ve also got a case study of this one on our website.
To give you a little bit of background, this is a local company in Southampton that recently had a break in. Between the time that the intruder alarm activated, and the police attended site, several high value items were stolen.
Axis were employed to propose and design some additional security measures to help prevent this in the future. We subsequently designed and installed a smoke screen system.
What is a smoke screen?
Now for those of you that are unfamiliar with a smoke screen system, I have a short video demonstrating its operation. At the top of my screen here you can see the smoke screen installation.
We also have some movement sensors covering the main roller shutter door. Upon an intruder entering via the roller shutter door, the smoke screen will activate.
How does a smoke screen work?
And as you can see, it very quickly begins to fill the room with smoke. This prevents intruders taking any high value items that are positioned on the racking.
This is a very effective system and it is recognised by all major insurance companies.
