CCTV Installation Southampton

Based in Southampton, our client is a leading global supplier and manufacturer of commercial and industrial floorcare machines. The first polishing machine was designed and manufactured in the early 1960’s since then their product development and geographic reach has expanded with multiply products in over 70 countries.

Axis Fire and Security was contracted to install a CCTV system. The system installed consisted of seven 8MP IP TIOC 2.0 Eyeball Dome cameras, each fitted with a varifocal 2.8mm iris lens, located at the front main entrance, right, rear, and surrounding areas of the building installed at a height of 2 – 3M.

The cameras were connected to a 16-way 8TB hard disk recorder, that allowed all the cameras to be recorded simultaneously with various viewing formats these Dahua cameras have several features including, simultaneous recording and playback of cameras, event search by time and date and recording at a frame rate of not less than 13 images per second per camera. The hard disk recorder also allows for at least 30 days of continuous recording before the data is overwritten.

Axis Fire and Security started the project by performing a comprehensive site survey to identify the most suitable locations for the cameras and to determine the coverage and quality of the recorded images. Once the survey was completed, the system was quoted to meet the requirements of the client. Including the selection of the appropriate cameras and hard disk recorder.

The system was then installed, tested, and approved by our installation engineer, we provided training on the use and operation of the system, including how to access the recordings and how to use the various viewing formats. We then offered a maintenance contract for the system allowing for regular checks to ensure the system remains in full working order.

Axis Fire and Security’s CCTV installation has been a success. The cameras provided the necessary coverage and recorded images of the required quality. The hard disk recorder allowed for the simultaneous recording and playback of all cameras and event search by time and date. The system is easy to use and maintain, and our client provided with full training on the system.
